Egger beer in a "new look"
- High-quality, holistic packaging relaunch in spring 2019
- New 0.33l individual glass bottle as special highlight
- Retour to roots
The Egger private brewery from St. Pölten-Unterradlberg in Lower Austria is investing heavily in a new packaging design: the more than 40 million beer products produced annually shine in new splendor in spring. The family-owned traditional brewery is thus focusing on contemporary, down-to-earth further development - with a lot of care for your roots. “We are making our brand and packaging fit for the future. The domestic beer market is on the move and continuous further development is the basis of sustainable success. The packaging of our products is an essential point of contact with our consumers. We therefore gave ourselves a lot of time for the project. A total of 18 months have passed from the start of the project to the first delivery ”, says Bernhard Prosser, Managing Director for Sales and Marketing at Egger Getränke. The design relaunch includes all containers and, in addition to Märzen, all other products such as Bock, Radler and the alcohol-free Egger Zisch. The new cans will be delivered from February, the start of delivery of the new beer bottles is planned for the end of March.
Really good beer in a really nice guise. The relaunch is accompanied by a massive visual upgrade. “It's time to put things right. The beers from our private brewery are among the most awarded beers in the country. And our master brewers brew with a lot of passion and tradition in one of the most modern breweries in Europe. We are now also underlining the high quality of our products with the new packaging, ”says Martin N. Eicher, the company's marketing manager, with conviction. "Valuable content in valuable packaging" is his credo. The new “look & feel” successfully combines tradition and modernity: The old brewery coat of arms was reactivated, the traditional colors green and red were retained, but with contemporary, reduced design elements such as a matt finish on the cans, a puristic freshness seal as a neck label and a valuable bottle relief added.
The studies carried out also prove that the new design is well received: Among other things, the shelf impact and the convenience of the new Egger packaging have been significantly improved. And the buying interest in new target groups is demonstrably increased by the new packaging. (Source: TNS Kantar market research, August 2018, n = 516)
Growth market 0.33 liter glass bottle
There is particular growth potential in the 0.33 liter glass bottle. The private brewery Egger paid special attention to this product. The result is a new individual bottle: Handy, with a high-quality bottle relief, freshness seal and "twist-off" screw-cap corks. The bottle will be available in a pack of 12, which will be sold under the name “the Egger men's handbag”.
